Arrow 2025 Wish List

Hey everyone, I wrote down some of my thoughts on directions I would like us to consider as a DAO for 2025.

These points are raw, and maybe some of them are impractical, but if nothing else they can stimulate some conversation/better ideas.

Please feel free to comment on the doc or any specific points here. Also submit your own wish list for 2025 in this thread too if you like!

We can have a annual review/planning meeting towards the end of the year to see what wishes we can make come true in 2025! :confetti_ball:

Lovely article. Thanks for your thoughts regarding continuous improvement of the community and actionable ideas around them. I would like to amend my notes around the topics if it would help further discussion.

“## 1. Establish North Star”

  • I believe we invested months or even years brainstorming our mission, vision, and constitution around 2022. Perhaps it’s time to revisit and reflect on our current stance, especially if we feel it’s no longer valid or relevant. Alternatively, we could rephrase it into a ‘better vision.’
  • The “why” is a powerful force to keep the community united and focused. It also serves as a narrative for attracting and growing the community. Technically, every community member or potential member is an investor—investing their time to interact, contribute, connect, and align with the organization.
  • To strengthen this bond and make it effective, the “why” must always shine, be internalized by every member, and propagate outward. It should be publicly discussed, criticized, and refined externally. We need to avoid becoming an insular, self-affirming community. Instead, our ideas should be battle-tested daily in the real world. Making the “why” as public as possible, as soon as possible, will help solidify it—and allow adjustments when necessary.

“2. Communicate The Vision, Visually”

“3. Fractionalize The Hardware Pie”

  • This is a strong approach to attracting more targeted ‘magnets.’ We could be more vocal about these points to refine the common ground with specialized talent possessing transferable skills.
  • I often see ‘robotics’ and ‘AI’ used in ways that reveal little about their purpose or function. It sometimes feels like these terms are buzzwords aimed at attracting attention from those unfamiliar with the field. While such strategies might work as marketing tactics, they often fail to convey a clear vision or mission. Ultimately, tools and technologies are means to an end—not the purpose itself.

“4. Single Source of Tru… Docs”

  • I also prefer Gitbook—it provides the most familiar experience for our target audience. Importantly, if Gitbook becomes a pain point, it’s easy to switch platforms later.
  • Regarding overall tool costs, I think we sometimes overanalyze minor expenses that could significantly improve our pace. Time is our scarcest resource, and the right tools can swiftly resolve certain pain points. Even if a tool turns out to be suboptimal, it’s better to find that out quickly and move on.

“5. Presentation Matters”

  • Your “style of communication” work is excellent, and I truly admire your creations. You raise the bar with every iteration in my view. No additional comments—your work speaks for itself.

“6. Best in Class Onboarding”

  • As operations become clearer and more straightforward through AIPs, this issue may naturally diminish, especially with the addition of public communication channels like Discourse.
  • Your proposal definitely helps. Additional processes can introduce complexity, but this might support streamlined onboarding. I still favor a personal touch over video materials for now, at least until the active community exceeds 50 members. If creating video materials wouldn’t take much of your time, it would still be a great addition.

“7. Begin Investor Relations”

  • As you say these all items would present ‘Better Arrow’ and I agree, which we may see from internal standpoint. but it’s not obvious to me what might be other stuff may make “Better Arrow” from investors viewpoint. The best preparation would be obtaining feedback on “what is missing” from potential investors and funding sources. Active engagement and gauging their input can help us address commonly raised issues. Such feedback loops should be implemented at every stage, even if no immediate funding is required.

“8. Register on DAO Landscape”

  • This might be the most effective short-term growth strategy, especially given the current increase in interaction velocity. If this can be initiated by filling a form, sending a DM, or arranging a call, there’s no reason to delay. Let’s make it happen.
